About Ofita / Quality
Quality is a source of constant
concern in OFITA. Management, production, design and service are linked in a total quality
system, the main beneficiary of which is the customer. In 1980, the Quality committee was created to supervise all in-house processes and control quality indicators. Ten years later, in 1990, OFITA introduced a Quality Management Unit, and created a Quality Management Department which unifies quality levels in all areas of the Company. OFITA's understanding of quality can be summed up in two sentences: "Always do things well and at the first opportunity" and "Exceed the customer's expectations the first time and every time after that". Certified quality In this sense, in 1995, OFITA took a step forward and launched the GKTomanía
concept, which can be defined as an "obsession for total quality management".
In order to fulfil this commitment,
OFITA has designed a system which allows the Company's quality of service and distributor network to be measured
on a permanent basis, and from the customer's viewpoint. In its constant desire to improve, the company develops innovating projects that contribute to the efficiency of its service. Such is the case, for example, of the IPM (Integral Project Management) and the introduction of ERP business management software. Together with the company's design work and production, the quality of its service has been certified according to international standards. OFITA's products do not only comply with national standards (UNE) and international standards (EN), they have also been awarded the Ministry of Defense Quality Certificate PECAL 9, equivalent to AQAP 9 of NATO. In 1994, AENOR certified OFITA according to ISO 9001.

Respect for the environment OFITA is a forward-looking company with regard to environmental matters. In February 2000, AENOR granted OFITA the Environmental Management Certificate in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 14001 standard. This mark is an unprecedented initiative in this country and represents public recognition, through an official organisation, of OFITA's commitment to establishing an efficient system of environmental management. This year, OFITA is taking part in the Ecodiseño Project, an initiative of the Public Environmental Management Company (IHOBE), the main aim of which is to reduce the environmental impact in the design and manufacture of industrial products. To do this, this company seeks and incorporates new, more ecological alternatives. Ecology is one of the main preoccupations of OFITA because this company has made great efforts to improve quality of life in the workplace, and an office designed according to environmental criteria is beneficial for the health of those who work in it. Faithful to its commitment to the environment, in the design and manufacture of its latest lines of furniture, Genius and Noa, OFITA has applied EcoDesign methodology, greatly reducing their environmental impact with respect to other, previous furniture programmes. |
