Once more, Ofita showrooms in Madrid and Barcelona have hosted the sessions Rethink Offices held in both cities organized by Grupo Vía.

During these sessions they analysed the changes incorporated when designing and implementing office spaces due to technological evolution, changes in corporate cultures, irruption of new generations and commitment to collaborative and flexible work.

Nearly one hundred professionals of the office sector attended this event at Ofita’s showroom in Barcelona to know the recent work and overview of the sector of leading brands such as Bloomint Design, Estudio Transversal, Savills Aguirre Newman, CDB Arquitectura, Grup Idea, La Petita Dimensió, Tétris and Estudio Escobedo.

From Bloomint Design, designers Manu Bauzá and Caroline Savin, presented the work carried out for Digital Luxury Group in Geneva (Switzerland) with three cornerstones: attraction of talent, efficiency and optimization and optimal use of space.

The architect Mónica Jiménez-Sicila of Estudio Transversal showed the project of the offices of Rent Multimedia, a company which due to its growth required new spaces to be developed in a two-floor factory hall in Badalona.

In turn, Beatriz de Latorre, Workplace & Design Director of Savills Aguirre Newman, shared the refurbishment and transformation of its own offices at Diagonal 615 to achieve an innovative and functional space with a design focused on people, the capacity to adapt to future changes and technological spaces, efficient and sustainable.

In these sessions they also explained the refurbishment and reform process of the headquarters of EADA in Barcelona by the architect, partner Carlos Durán of CDB Arquitectura.

From Grup Idea, the architect and Business Development Manager Lluís Saiz, exposed four works within the scope of offices the company has recently developed.

From Tétris, its Business Development in Barcelona Cristina Matesanz analysed how the area of 22@ of Barcelona embeds most of the office projects of technological companies, startups and coworking. Matesanz also showed the work developed in this area with the new offices of Glovo, that in four years has increased from 0 to 800 employees.

Finally Guillermo Escobedo, Creative Director of Estudio Escobedo went over the main changes undergone in the last decade in the sector of offices which have changed from being closed and hierarchical to a new model committed to comfort, health, importance of leisure and game, technology, polyvalence of spaces, more common areas and fewer offices, meeting and interaction spaces, healthy food and sports.

In Rethink Offices Madrid leadings brands of the sector such as Cushman & Wakefield, Febrero Studio, Picado / De Blas, Colliers International Spain, Izascun Chinchilla Architects, B720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, BICG and Rafael de La-Hoz Arquitectos exposed their reflections and projects.

With the attendance of one hundred professionals of the sector encouraged by the figures of the sector where offices represent 51% of the total real estate investment, according to Grupo Vía.

During these sessions, from the Project & Development Service Department of Cushman & Wakefield, its Head of Business Development Spain Óscar Fernández and the Workplace Consultant Beatriz Santos, explained how technological companies are investing in inclusive offices to recover and attract talent of employees with neurological variations, a niche of talent that was left aside and which involves reputation and productivity advantages.

In turn, Mercedes González and Jesús Díaz, founders of Febrero Studio, spell out details about the changes in the needs demanded by clients in three areas: work (+ open office, -offices, + horizontality, + relation between departments, + digital office and – wires), meeting (smaller and more connective meeting rooms and, smaller meeting rooms due to the growth of informal meeting areas, more concentration spaces and 360º conference systems) and informal to favour talent attraction.

Architects Rubén Picado and María José de Blas, partners of Picado / De Blas, exposed the work developed for the financial entity Globalcaja, in Castilla La Mancha.

 

 

From Colliers International Spain, its MD of REMS & Technical Services, Miguel Ángel Falcón talked about the work process of its brand when facing office projects the first step of definition of the needs of clients through interviews and workshops being essential as well as the functional analysis to collect information. This way the concept, design, layout and look&feel can be properly established and reach the business case to define costs, deadlines, stages and cash flow.

The architect Izaskun Chinchilla, founder of Izaskun Chinchilla Architects, reflected on the three main concerns in her office when facing projects: ecology and circular economy, sociology (gender inequality and share capital) and revision of constructive technology.

In turn, the architect Fermín Vázquez, founder of B720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, showed the work performed in two office buildings in which they are currently working in Madrid: La Matriz WPP in Ríos Rosas and Polaris North in Avenida Manoteras.

From BICG, the Project Manager and Workplace Architect Alicia Regodón, identified how the needs of clients go beyond the development of the space and the backstage of companies (company experience) is ever more determinant so the prior analysis by workshops, interviews is biased to understand the needs and the business and today it is essential to access to information (analytics) and use them to impact on people and spaces.

Finally Zaloa Mayor, Project Director of Rafael de La-Hoz Arquitectos, revealed the first prize of the International Contest for the office complex of the European Commission in Brussels with 240.000m2 (180,000m2 of floor area).

Presentation of “Best way to work”

Martín López, Sales Director and Jonatan Molina, Manager of Madrid presented the latest study by Ofita, “Best way to work” at Rethink Offices Barcelona and Madrid, respectively.

This study could be defined as a guide for the proper use of each work space through the seven optimal areas such as: reception, work stations, concentration areas, collaboration areas, relax and leisure areas, learning areas and socialization areas as explained in this post.
