Tubular design is all the rage, as was seen at the Neocon 2023 trade fair.

The Chicago show brought together tens of thousands of designers, architects, manufacturers and industry professionals from around the world in a space dedicated to inspiration and creativity.

During the event, cutting-edge products, practical solutions and futuristic visions for workspaces were presented. One of the main trends we were able to observe is the focus on employee health and well-being, i.e., the humanization of the office.

And in the search for this humanization, office furniture is leaving behind straight and angular shapes, and opting for more curved, sinuous and organic shapes, which are visually friendlier and much closer to the comfort of home.

Tubular design, the resurgence of organic design

At Ofita, we have been offering office furniture with tubular structure for some time, such as the Egala, Fresh, District and Delta lines, and we are delighted to see how this design is gaining popularity around the world.

Advantages of a tubular frame office desk

Among the advantages of the tubular structure, we will begin by highlighting – in the case of Ofita office desks – that they are more competitive in terms of price and are easy to install, two great reasons. For example, Ofita’s Delta and District desks make it possible to create operational and productive offices with a very competitive investment.

Another advantage of using tubular structures in the design of office furniture is its durability and resistance. Metal tubes are capable of withstanding weight and daily use, making them an ideal choice for active work environments.

In addition to their strength, tubular frame office furniture is versatile and adaptable. The tubes allow the creation of modular and customizable designs, which facilitates the creation of functional and flexible workspaces, whether they are individual, in island, clover configuration…

Another trend in office furniture design is the integration of technology. Furniture with tubular structures can include features such as integrated plugs and USB ports, cable management systems and holders for electronic devices. This allows for greater connectivity and convenience in the work environment.

Minimalist aesthetics

In terms of aesthetics, tubular frame office furniture offers a minimalist and clean look. The simplicity of shapes creates an orderly, friendly and contemporary office environment.

This is Fresh, an iconic Ofita table, designed by Antoni Arola and Jordi Tamayo. This tubular structure table is a commitment to conceptual cleanliness and efficiency with the minimum use of resources. A unique way of understanding the space, which humanizes the office, without losing sight of its operability or its aesthetics. Fresh stands out mainly for its flexibility and adaptability to any work space, as well as for its simplicity in assembly.

In addition, the tubular design is ideal for the use of natural materials such as wood, which complements the organic look of the furniture and evokes a sense of warmth and naturalness, contributing to a cozy and friendly atmosphere in the office space.

Thus, the Egala table leg, with its warm and natural appearance, transforms workspaces into pleasant, comfortable and efficient environments that invite us to give the best of ourselves. And the same goes for the elegant Versa Natura table, a spectacular design by Andreas Struppler.
