Ofita has furnished the Endesa headquarters in Madrid, which has been refurbished by Alotark, a firm specialising in architecture, workplace, technical asset management and energy management.

As Alotark describes, in this first phase of the refurbishment, three major challenges were addressed: to improve collaborative work, to generate a more fluid circulation and to ensure that the space reflected the company’s values.

The result: a new headquarters, more open to the world and to talent, inspiring, technological and collaborative. A living space that continues to evolve.

One of the most characteristic and fundamental elements of the project has been the strategy for the layout of the spaces, ensuring an acoustic and privacy gradient that guarantees comfort conditions in the workplace. As an example of this, the position of the meeting rooms was redefined by proposing their access through the walkways of the building’s central atrium, thus avoiding bringing noise and people into the individual workspaces. Biophilia is also present in the design through vegetal walls and also incorporated in the Ofita furniture.

Another of the elements to be transformed in the headquarters was to break with a grey and monotonous workspace. “We fought against this uniformity by incorporating the company’s corporate colours. By adding colours, we created a warmer and more stimulating space for the team”, explained Alotark.

Endesa employees now enjoy a fluid environment, with unassigned workstations, complemented by different collaborative workspaces for interacting, working and sharing. The more open design facilitates a sense of community and connection between the team.

The 1,646 operational workstations have been designed by Ofita in a clover or bench configuration, according to functional and aesthetic needs, and furnished with Ofita’s operational programmes, Gen and District, with customised elements, in addition to the Flip panels. They are not assigned, and next to them are located different areas designed for both formal and informal collaboration, in different formats in terms of design and equipment: open and closed meeting rooms, meeting points for rest and informal contact… as well as for concentration (phone booths…).

These areas have also been furnished by Ofita. In fact, the furniture favours each of these dynamics, social and individual.
