Ofita reinforces its commitment to sustainability by signing up to the Green Pact Community, which responds to the values that have been part of the company since its beginnings.

What is the Green Pact Community?

The Green Pact Community is a community of companies and organisations in the Vitoria-Gasteiz business sphere that are working on the transition to business models that demand fewer natural resources and have a lower climate impact. The Green Pact Community is promoted by the City Council of a city, Vitoria-Gasteiz, which this year celebrates the tenth anniversary of its designation as European Green Capital, the only Spanish city to hold this title to date.

In fact, Ofita has been implementing sustainable practices for a long time, and the Green Pact Community is one more step to show our commitment to a better world.

The Green Pact Community, a further sign of Ofita’s commitment

At Ofita, we try to promote sustainability in our relationship with all our stakeholders and, of course, we constantly seek to address the environmental impact of our organisation in all aspects of our activity, so that business does not take precedence over environmental responsibility or the well-being of people.

LEVEL® certification and eco-design, two pillars of our environmental commitment

The most rigorous quality standards are key in Ofita’s design, production and logistics processes. This is accredited by the most demanding certificates, such as ISO 9001 in manufacturing quality and continuous improvement of processes, ISO 14006 in eco-design and environmental improvement of products, ISO 14001 in clean production and environmental protection…

In addition, PEFC certification provides a verified and independent guarantee that Ofita furniture is made with certified wood from sustainably managed forests.

Our journey does not end here, because we are truly committed to sustainability; it is part of our corporate DNA and one of our values.

We do not understand any other way of doing things, and proof of this is that in 2019, Ofita became the first Spanish company in the office furniture sector with LEVEL® sustainability certification, level 2. This standard adopts a global approach, beyond the product, and meets the European requirements for the concepts of Green Public Procurement (a process in which public authorities seek to obtain goods, services or works with a reduced environmental impact) and Circular Economy.
